How do I lower my SR22 car insurance premium?

Mike

Thanks for asking, Mike.

When you have to file for SR22 car insurance, you move up into a higher risk group among policy holders. Being in a higher risk group confers a higher SR22 car insurance premium price. So it would logically follow that if you want to get a lower SR22 car insurance premium, then you should lower the risk level for yourself. There are a lot of ways that you can do that, and here are a couple.

First of all, drive less. There are plenty of car insurance companies that will give you low mileage discount. One of the most common ones is based on how much you driver a year, and this can be harder to get since the threshold is somewhat low for most companies at five thousand miles. However, there are other companies that will give you a discount if you drive less than forty miles every day–now with that, that isn’t so hard to do. There are plenty of benefits to this not only with lower car insurance prices, but also saving your car from the trouble of the road.

Another way to go is to keep your car safe. Anything that makes you a safer driver can get you a cheaper SR22 car insurance premium. In order to make your car safer you can install certain safety features and make sure you follow the upkeep procedures for your vehicle. Many accidents are caused simply because tires are not properly cared for.
