We wouldn’t want panicky ignorant employees on the road, right? It’s nice if you have liability coverage there in your company and some personal injury coverage for your employees. Here comes my step-by-step. First is, of course, the very basic “stay calm” and check for injuries or property damage. Second, wait for the police or highway patrol and file the report. This stage is quite important since it affects how the insurance company will approach your accident. In my book, there are fewer errors with less talk. So, better tell the employees to stick to the facts. The facts include: license plates, getting all the names straight, etc. Third, if there’s someone who handles accidents for your company, give him or her, a call. If none is available, better be sure that your people know who to get in touch with in the auto-insurance company. I think there’s usually a hotline for these cases.
